Try Tennis is an instructional program for beginners or those who have not picked up a racket in years or ever! The program includes a pathway for adults and juniors where each participant works with a tennis instructor to learn enough basic skills to play a beginner match. You can expect to learn the basic strokes, how to serve, how to rally, how to score points, and tennis etiquette. For $40.00 you will get 6 hours of lessons, a new Jr. Dunlap racket and a player gift.
Brunswick County Junior Open Tennis Tournament Being Held March 25-26
The Brunswick County Tennis Association (BCTA) is hosting the Brunswick County Junior Open Tennis tournament March 25-26 at Smithville Park in Brunswick County. This tournament is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned event where players receive points for their state ranking. The tournament is a singles event open to boys and girls in the following age groups: 12 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under and 18 & under. Registration deadline is May 10 at 5:59pm.
This is a Level 7 tournament which is a one day tournament. March 26 will be used as a rain date if needed. The format is an 8 player compass draw or round robin. This non-elimination format gives players maximum match playing time. Players will play 1 set to 6 games, regular scoring, 7 point tiebreak at 6-6. This means each age division will be done in 3 to 3-1/2 hours.

Winter/Spring Adaptive Tennis / Special Olympics Session
The Adaptive Tennis session will be held January 18 through May 24 each Wednesday (Except 3/1, 3/29, 4/5, 4/12,& 5/10) at Smithville Park tennis courts in Southport from 10:00am to 11:00 am.
